Lexington, Kentucky
When Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) expanded its police facilities with the new East Sector Roll Call Center, AJC provided civil engineering and site design services to support the project.
Project Overview
Located at 4385 Clearwater Way in Lexington, the Roll Call Center includes new facilities and associated parking on a 1.9-acre disturbed site within a larger 78-acre property. AJC’s role focused on site grading, utilities, erosion control, stormwater management, and compliance with local codes.
Key Design Features
Engineered Grading & Drainage: The plan set included detailed elevations, storm structures, and grading intent for reliable site drainage.
Utility Coordination: Sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water line connections were designed in accordance with LFUCG standards, with contractor guidance for testing and inspections.
Erosion Control & Sequencing: A full Best Management Practices (BMP) plan was developed, outlining phased erosion control from initial grading to final stabilization.
Safety & Compliance: Notes incorporated OSHA and LFUCG requirements, emphasizing site access, ADA compliance, and stormwater protections.
Project Impact
The Roll Call Center enhances public safety infrastructure in East Lexington, providing modern facilities for police operations while meeting environmental and stormwater compliance. AJC’s plans gave contractors clear, buildable guidance—ensuring a straightforward construction process and long-term durability.
